研究紹介
いわゆる「こころ」について、「意識」、「自己」、「時間」、「社会性」などといったテーマに興味を持っています。こうした機能のうち、どこまでが種を超えて共通した普遍的なもので、どこからが特定の種で特化して発達したものなのでしょうか。主にマウス・ラット・ハトを対象として、実験心理学がその歴史において洗練させてきた行動課題に、最先端の神経生物学的な計測および操作技術を融合していくことによって、ヒトを含めた動物の行動の基盤となる、心理学的および神経生物学的な構造と、その進化について明らかにしようとしています。国内外の研究室との分野横断的で学際的な共同研究にも積極的に取り組んでいます。
